Building Washing

This service is the exterior cleaning of a buildings surfaces, minus the roof. It can be performed to varying degrees of granularity, to suit the customers needs.

The Process

To clean a building structure we must first understand the desired outcome.

Unlike driveway cleaning or roof cleaning, there are more variables and options involved with house washing.

Are you just wanting the mould treated that crept up during wet season? Or, are you looking to have your home sparkling?

Both options are possible, one just takes more time.

As a base level clean, we'll typically use a bleach/surfactant mix and soft wash the building. Soft washing is similar to pressure washing, and to the untrained eye it might even look like the same thing. The key difference is the amount of pressure being used.

We try to avoid using high pressure applications on the building facades, as there would be an increased risk of damage to things such as window seals, render, paint, caulk, mortar etc.

After the soap and chlorine have been left for an appropriate length of time, which is dictated by the level of dirt and the surface material, we'll complete the rinse. It's the same process, minus the chemical injection. Our soft wash attachments allow us to be able to reach long distances without the need to physically access each area. This comes in handy when there are hard to reach areas that need cleaning.

Depending upon the result of the soft wash, we may repeat the process again. For more thorough cleans we can get very detailed and use manual methods to remove spot stains, mud wasp nests, rust marks and more.

When treating a building with chemicals it's important to be aware of the environment around it. We pay close attention to the run-off pathways to avoid water source contamination. We'll also wet any vegetation around the building before treatment begins, and continue to monitor and rinse as necessary, so as to not chemically burn plants, grass, shrubs or trees.
