Careers at The Pressure Washing Company in Townsville
We're always open to exploring opportunities with people who are a great fit for our business. This page will hopefully give you an understanding of what we're about, and how we look to hire.
The Pressure Washing Company was launched with a mission in mind - to build a solid service business that people trust. We're trying to smash the stereotype of the vape wielding tradie, who turns up late and swears too loud in the customer's garden.
We value personality over experience, brains over brawn, attention to detail over a sprint to the finish. We value employees who treat our clients as their own clients, and work collaboratively to achieve the same ultimate goal - to build the most reliable and efficient pressure washing business in North Queensland.
We're a new business, there's no skirting around that fact. New businesses come with both up sides and down sides. When you join our team, you're committing to helping the company succeed. You will need to be resourceful and you may need to step outside of your role from time to time. But, in true startup fashion, you'll also be positioned to grow. You'll be positioned to learn, lead, and expand. Expand skillsets, expand responsibility, expand locations, expand income.
Thinking outside the box and being autonomous are fundamental soft skills within our organisation. We love fresh ideas and creative solutions. Strong systems are integral to the expansion and success of The Pressure Washing Company, but that doesn't mean they can't change or improve. Challenge yourself, challenge your thinking, and challenge our thinking.
You'll find that we pay higher salaries than the industry average, and that's because we're not average. We deliver above average services, and we charge above average prices because we have above average staff who deserve above average remuneration. We also expect above average effort.
"We focus heavily on culture" is what you'll read in every job advert, ever. What does that actually mean? To us it means that we aim to build teams who like each other. We don't force friendships, but we'd like our staff to wake up without dread. In fact, we'd really like our employees to feel excited about coming to work. That realistically means we aim to reduce the pressure placed upon staff. Management should set realistic and sustainable goals, and give the support, equipment, training, and every other resource required to help them achieve those goals.
We feel that if we hire people with the right attitude and personality, everything else can be taught. We offer in-house training to all of our employees. We use the best equipment on the market. We have top insurance cover. We have dedicated time for equipment maintenance, so that you're not simultaneously rushing to get the job done, and then blamed for dirty gear.
