FAQ's
How soon can you get to my pressure washing job? Timing depends upon our schedule, but if you have an urgent need we'll try our hardest to make it work. To speed up the process you should: 1) Contact us via phone. (If we don't pick up immediately, shoot through a text and we'll get straight back to you) 2) Let us know your desired job schedule time and date. (The more flexible you are, the more likely it is we'll be able to squeeze you in last minute) 3) Try to supply us with as much accurate info as possible. We may not even need to attend your property to quote the job if we have photos or videos. (You can send media via WhatsApp or Email)
How much does it cost? Cost varies depending upon the following factors: Surface area, material to be cleaned, access, degree of cleanliness, stains, risk, equipment required. We are likely NOT going to be the cheapest option. We provide a premium level of service and care. We also use professional grade equipment, have the top level of insurance cover, and guarantee a great result or its FREE. We're often mistakenly compared to back-yard-bob with his home-brand pressure washer. The trouble is, Bob doesn't turn up when it's his cat's birthday. Bob slips around on your roof without a harness. Bob kills your vegetation with chemicals and is uninsured. Bob's customer base is different to ours, because Bob is an apple and we're an orange.
What happens if something gets damaged? We're in this together. If our team does something silly, reversing a vehicle into something or dropping a pot plant whilst moving it - we'll obviously cover the cost. As part of our service agreement, you (the customer) acknowledge that sometimes there are unavoidable damages. An example would be an old concrete driveway that has pre-existing cracks in the slab. We'll do our best to avoid or reduce the pressure whilst washing those types of areas, but they're naturally higher risk situations for breakages or chipping. It's your responsibility to either make us aware of vulnerable areas that you'd like us to avoid OR accept the fact that there's a possibility some light damage may occur. It's akin to a service version of wear and tear, and we will not be liable for it.
How do you maintain a safe working environment? At The Pressure Washing Company, safety is at the core of everything we do. All of our staff are fully trained in chemical handling and pressure washing techniques, and we strictly follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for every product we use. Before starting a job, we identify major risk factors and make sure to follow our Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to control any risks on site. Where high-risk work is required (I.E. at height), our team holds the appropriate High Risk Work Licences and is qualified to operate equipment such as Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs). We also maintain comprehensive public liability and workers’ compensation insurance, giving our customers complete peace of mind. Our promise is simple - we don’t cut corners. We follow the correct procedures, use the right equipment, and treat every property as if it were our own. We'll keep both our team and our customers safe at all times.
Which types of surfaces are safe to wash with pressure? In short, it depends upon the pressure. We could damage most surfaces with pressure if we tried to. Our machines put out over 4000psi, that's why it's really important that you hire somebody who is experienced with pressure cleaning and identifying possible risk factors. Older exposed aggregate can be damaged by pressure that is too high. Cracked concrete can be further damaged by high pressure. Paint can be stripped by high pressure. Corners of materials are more easily damaged because of the smaller surface area. We have the ability to dial back or increase pressure accordingly.
How far will you travel for a job? For the right job we'll travel a fair distance. We're based in Kirwan, and currently service all of Townsville's surrounding suburbs. If the price makes sense we'd travel well outside of this service area, most likely for a large commercial job.
What is Soft Washing? Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that safely removes mould, algae, dirt, and grime from delicate exterior surfaces without causing damage. Unlike high-pressure washing, which relies on force, soft washing uses a carefully balanced mix of water, biodegradable cleaning solutions, and surfactants to gently break down organic growth and surface contaminants. It’s ideal for (some) roofs, rendered walls, painted surfaces, and anywhere you want a deep clean without stripping paint or damaging materials. It's also very helpful when cleaning around delicate window seals of anywhere else with a vent, gasket or membrane. The cleaning solution does the heavy lifting, sanitising the surface and helping prevent regrowth for longer-lasting results. At The Pressure Washing Company, we use professional-grade soft-wash equipment and chemicals to restore your property’s appearance while protecting it from unnecessary wear and tear.
How do you access the roof? We will typically access the roof with a ladder initially, and secure ourselves to the roof using a fall-arrest safety system. This system uses an anchor, which we attach to the roof using your existing roof screws. We do not drill any extra holes in your roof. The fall arrest system is rated to Australian and NZ standards for fall arrest equipment. For higher roofs that aren't able to be accessed via ladder, we use an EWP (Elevated Work Platform) to access and then either work directly out of that, or, attach to the roof in the same way. This depends upon the type of roof cleaning service you're getting.
This is how we conduct business. Straight to the point, trustworthy, reliable.
