Safety
For us, safety isn't an afterthought.

It's not something that we just "have to do" to tick the boxes.

We NEED our staff to make it home in one piece, and we NEED our customers to be safe. We also NEED to not be fined, and we NEED the environment to be protected. That's why we NEED to build safety into our systems and procedures from the jump.

So you don't NEED to worry about what we're up to, because we've got it covered.
The Breakdown
Hazards, risk, control measures, SWMS, JSA's. It's all encompassing, and can get very long and technical. The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (QLD) is a 309 page document, made up of approximately 110,000 words.
We'll simplify roughly what that means for us, and in turn, you.

Electrical and Equipment Safety

Height Safety
Working at heights carries obvious risks, especially when roofs, ladders, or elevated work platforms are involved.

-
All team members are trained in working-at-heights procedures and use certified fall arrest systems when required.
-
Life supporting or fall arrest systems are required to be tested and tagged, in order to stay certified.
-
If an EWP (Elevated Work Platform) is required for the best access to your job, we use certified and credentialed operators. In QLD, certain EWP's do not require a High Risk Work License if their maximum reach height is 11m or less. We obtain our EWP equipment through Stick 'Em Up Hire in Garbutt.
-
We assess every site before starting work, identifying roof pitch, surface type, and anchor points.
-
We avoid unnecessary risks by using eliminating the need to work from height whenever possible, and use specialised equipment to clean from ground level.

Safety harnesses, roof anchors, and proper footwear aren’t optional, they’re standard practice. We purchase our safety equipment from Alliance Safety Equipment in Hyde Park.

Chemical Safety
We use a range of professional-grade cleaning agents from sodium hypochlorite and surfactants to degreasers and rust removers. Chemicals can cause harm when used incorrectly, so it's imperative our team always handles them with care.

-
Every product we use has an up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
-
Chemicals are stored, mixed, and transported according to WHS and manufacturer guidelines.
-
Staff are trained in safe dilution ratios, PPE requirements, spill management, and neutralisation procedures.
-
We use biodegradable and environmentally responsible products wherever possible, however it's important to note that it's not always practical or possible to do so - hence, our safe handling and disposal procedures.
-
We source our chemicals from Australian Chemicals in Currajong.

Our approach ensures that powerful cleaning doesn’t come at the expense of safety or the environment.

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
Many of our jobs are completed in high-traffic or public areas such as driveways, car parks, or commercial entries.

-
We set up clearly marked safety cones, barricades, and wet-surface signs to warn pedestrians and drivers.
-
When working near roads or public footpaths, our team wears high-visibility clothing and positions vehicles strategically for protection.
-
We maintain clear access points so that businesses and residents can continue safely operating while we work.
-
Whilst we do carry current traffic management and stop/slow bat operation accreditations, we also recognise the fact that it isn't our main skillset. If there are setups that are higher risk or require more diligent traffic management, we will typically outsource that responsibility to a traffic management contractor.

Good communication and smart setup prevent most accidents before they ever have the chance to happen.

Electrical and Equipment Safety
All of our pressure washing equipment is engine-powered, not electric, which means there’s no risk of electrical faults from cords or water exposure during operation.

-
Electrical outlets are taped and sealed before we begin cleaning to prevent water ingress.
-
We avoid operating near overhead powerlines and maintain safe clearance distances in accordance with electrical safety guidelines.
-
Hoses and equipment are set up to avoid contact with any electrical fittings or installations.
-
Every piece of machinery is regularly serviced and inspected to ensure safe, reliable performance.
-
If there's ever a doubt, we'll request that the power is shut off or we will decline to carry out the work.

By removing electricity from the equation and following strict setup protocols, we significantly reduce on-site hazards while maintaining full cleaning efficiency and safety.

Environmental Care
Pressure washing shouldn’t harm the planet. We take steps to manage runoff responsibly and protect local waterways.

-
Where possible, as a first line of defence we will avoid using chemicals all together.
-
Drain blockers and containment mats are used to prevent chemical runoff.
-
Wastewater is neutralised or diluted before disposal, following local council guidelines.
-
Our cleaning methods are designed to use the minimum effective chemical concentration for the job.

We aim for spotless results — not environmental impact.
